I always thought I'd like to travel to exotic, far-away places. But reading about those places seemed a lot easier (and safer and cheaper!). No doubt about it, I'm an 'armchair explorer.' And half the time I find myself wistfully visualizing settings and situations that exist only in the 'what-if' dimension - my imagination. That's when stories start to come alive in my head. Snatches of conversation between characters, a flash of action, and before I know it, I'm in the middle of writing another book.

But writing those stories is not enough. Getting them into the hands of readers who may enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them is my burning goal. Stories are meant to be told and shared - and that's the journey I'm on now.

Maybe someday I'll have the money and the gumption to travel to those real places around the globe I've dreamed of visiting. But for now I'll stay in my own back yard and content myself with writing about places so distant and so different, I can only visit them in my imagination.
